About Save Stockham

My Mission

As a lifelong Morrisville resident, I'm on a mission to save the historic Stockham Building from destruction. The Stockham Building is located at 10 S. Pennsylvania Ave., on southeast corner of

Pennsylvania Avenue and Bridge Street. I believe this landmark is a vital part of our town's heritage, and deserves to be preserved, NOT demolished. I'm calling on the community to stand with me, raise awareness, and urge Borough Council officials to do the right thing. Together, we can protect a piece of Morrisville’s history before it’s lost forever.

This photo of the fountain was taken in August 2025.

8/19/2025 - LATEST UPDATE: It has been determined that the building will be demolished.

8/19/2025 Borough Council Meeting

Here is the video of the meeting. It starts with a presentation by the engineering company about the building. Their grand conclusion? That it’s cheaper to demolish than restore. (Thank you, Captain Obvious. You don’t need a degree in engineering to figure out it’s always cheaper to bulldoze something than to fix it.)  It’s frustrating, heartbreaking even, but the decision is made: easier to erase history than preserve it.

Stockham Building "Beyond Repair?"

The Stockham Building is going to be torn down and replaced with—what else—a parking lot. The owners, SRV Holdings of New Jersey, pulled off demolition by neglect, and the Council stood by and let it happen. At the Borough meeting, it was even admitted that only a “visual inspection” was done, and that they “couldn’t get to the second floor.” Funny, I somehow managed to find the stairs and get up there myself. (See photo.) But let’s not kid ourselves—the fix was in from the start. One of Morrisville’s most historic buildings is being erased under the thin excuse of “safety” and “cost.”

Morrisville Borough owns the parking lot behind the building.  With the parking study they have commissioned (see video), it's a safe bet that they will conclude that where Stockham is now makes the most sense for a parking lot

History bulldozed, parking prioritized. That’s the legacy being written.
